The Endoscopic Depatrment is the largest in the Republic of Belarus and is fitted with modern equipment by the Japanese companies Olympus and Fujinon.
In accordance with the order of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus the cleaning of the endoscopic equipment is performed in separate rooms with specialised washing machines. Instrument sterilisation is carried out in a central sterilisation department. The department works by appointment only. Register at reception, please.
Currently the department provides the following services: Oesophagogastroduodenofibroscopy (endoscope study of esophagus, gaster and dodecadactylon) Colonofiberscopy (endoscope study of the large gut) Endosonography (ultrasonic investigation of esophagus paries, gaster, dodecadactylon, mediastinal, pancrea-biliary zone) Enteroscopy (study of the small gut) Magnification endoscopy Chromoscopy (mucosa staining with Lugols iodine solution, Congo red, methylene blue and without staining - spectroscopic) Debride extraction Removal of post surgical ligature Therapeutic endoscopy (including laser).
The resulting biopsies are investigated, including for the seeding of gastric mucosa by the bacterium Helicobacter pylori.
The great advantage we have is in our Clinical Histopathology Laboratory which allows you to receive your biopsy results within 2-3 days, and cytology is performed within 1 day.
Department of Functional Diagnostics
Our Department of Functional Diagnostics is the largest in the Republic of Belarus. Our priorities are comprehensive examination, the detection of diseases at an early stage, high effectiveness and high quality of information in our studies and continuity of work with other institutions.
The work of the department is coupon-based with a monthly coupon distribution among the various institutions of the city.
The following studies are offered to the patients with cardio-vascular diseases: Echocardiography with colour Doppler mapping and tissue Doppler Transesophageal echocardiography 24-hour monitoring of electrocardiogram (ECG) and blood pressure Treadmill test Electrocardiography Doppler ultrasound of the brachiocephalic vessels, arteries and veins of the upper and lower extremities Transcranial Doppler Duplex ultrasound scanning of various vascular systems.
A wide range of neurological techniques allow us to identify various organic and functional abnormalities of the central and peripheral nervous systems, as well as the muscular system. The patients undergo: Computer echoencephalography Computer electroencephalography Posturography with a set of rehabilitation programs.
Ultrasonic Diagnostic Department
Ultrasound diagnostic is a safe, non-invasive, highly informative method of study indispensable in diagnostics of a large number of diseases. The department employs highly certified physicians who can perform diagnostic procedures at the highest professional level.
The doctors of the department take an in-depth expertise study of the most complex cases including the divergence in diagnoses, on referral from Medical Rehabilitation Adjudication Committee, Military Enlistment Offices, determine the feasibility and scope of surgical procedures, perform therapeutic and diagnostic procedures under ultrasonic control and numerous special ultrasonic studies.
The department is equipped with colour digital ultrasonic equipment which allow you to visualise in the modes of colour and energy Doppler mapping, and the spectral Doppler sonography.
Clinical Diagnostic Laboratory
The laboratory performs a wide range of studies in the following areas: General clinical research. Hematologic studies. Biochemical studies including that of the haemostatic system.
Haemostatic system evaluation is implemented on a wide range of characteristics of the vascular-thrombocytic (primary) haemostasis, plasmic (coagulation) haemostasis, activation markers of the intravascular coagulation and fibrinolysis.
We carry out metabolic flux analysis: protein, lipid, carbohydrate, pigmental, hydro-electrolyte and mineral.
We study a wide range of specific and acute phase proteins, markers of osteoporosis, anemia and cancer markers.
Hormonal studies are performed by the spectrum of markers of functional state of the thyroid gland and reproductive hormones, hormones studied by enzyme multiplied immunoassay and radioimmunoassay.
Clinical Histopathology Laboratory
The Laboratory of Clinical Histopathology has been a part of the centre since it opened. At present the laboratory is equipped with histological and optical equipment produced by the German company Leica Microsystems and the Japanese one Olympus.
The main advantages of the Clinical Histopathology Laboratory are our quick results, quick delivery of materials within the building, the puncture biopsy study in the case of gynaecological, urological and dental diseases, the same day cytological studies and the advice we give on biopsy materials conducted in the laboratories of the other healthcare institutions of the country.
The biopsy studies taken in the laboratory take 2 days on average. In rare cases it may take longer (occasionally 1-2 days as it may necessary to undertake further research and consulting from the experts at the Pathoanatomy Department at the Medical University.
The Clinical Histopathology Laboratory also conducts histochemical studies of biopsy material for mucin, using the Van Gieson method, SchiffР Р†Р вЂљРІвЂћСћs reagent, for amyloid, using trichrome. The major contribution of the laboratory is in the field of oncological pathology.
It is worth mentioning that the laboratory focuses on studies of the gastrointestinal tract. The largest number of biopsies comes to the laboratory from the Endoscopic Department of the Diagnostic Centre and the material is presented by the biopsies of the gastrointestinal tract (biopsy of esophagus, gaster, dodecadactylon and major duodenal papilla, large gut and straight intestine). The presence of the Helicobacter pylori is also determined during the study of the biopsy material.
Our laboratory is unique and can quickly identify in the shortest time possible about 500 types of micro organisms while determining their sensitivity to 16-32 antimicrobial drugs.
Our laboratory is equipped to carry out the following tests: Blood for sterility; Discharge of the respiratory system (upper and lower respiratory tract); Open infected wounds; Biological material of the urogenital system for sexually-transmitted infections; Gastrointestinal system organs for intestinal flora (intestinal dysbacteriosis); Discharge from the eyes and ears; Breast milk; Body fluids from normally sterile cavities (peritoneal, synovial, pleural, joint); Sanitary and bacteriological (objects of our environment, medical devices for sterility, biological control of effectiveness of the steam and dry-air sterilizers).
We also give advice on clinical bacteriology.
Radionuclide Diagnostic Department
The Radionuclide Diagnostic Department is equipped with a two-mode detector gamma-camera Forte produced by PHILIPS, allowing us to conduct research in a dynamic, static, sync mode, and a mode of single-photon emission computer tomography. There is a software package combined with the gamma camera workstation JETStream for data collection and research of various organs and systems.
This method of investigation is called scintigraphy. The method is based on registration by the scintillation detector of the accumulation and distribution of intravenously injected radiopharmaceutical in the examined body. A short-life isotope of technetium-99m with a half life of 6 hours is used as the radionuclide label. The radiation exposure is several times lower than X-ray diffraction studies of comparable size.
The X-ray Department is a member of the department of radiation diagnostic centre. We accept only patients with a referral letter from the doctors of our Consulting Department.
We conduct the following studies: Irrigoscopy with double contrast (training) X-rays of the esophagus, stomach, dodecadactylon (preparation) Interography X-rays of bones, joints, skull, lungs, including linear tomography Review and excretory urography Urethrography Cystography Sialography.
We also see patients for determining the degree of osteoporosis by bone densitometry unit. The patients should be referred by either our consultants or doctors of the local clinics.
We have two computer tomographs by the General Electric company. We conduct the following studies: CT of the brain CT of the neck CT of the spine (cervical, thoracic and lumbar) CT of the hip joints CT of the facial skull CT of flat and long bones CT of the lungs and mediastinum CT of the abdominal cavity and retroperitoneal space using a special technique of contrast enhancement CT angiography (if assigned).
We use the equipment of the Philips company. We do the following studies: Brain MRI MRI of the brain vessels MRI of the neck (soft tissue and spinal cord) MRI of the thoracic spine MRI of teh lumbar spine MRI of the joints MRI of the abdomen MRI of the small pelvis using a special technique of contrast enhancement MR angiography (if necessary).
